Biography
Murph grew up in Brunswick, OH – a small city about 20 minutes southwest of downtown Cleveland. During high school, Murph cut his directing and filmmaking (okay, perhaps videomaking is more accurate) chops by doing many of his projects in that format. After graduating from a Catholic school in ’97, he headed to college at Miami University in Oxford, Oh to study mass communication, TV production and film. During college, Murph interned on “The Drew Carey Show,” the same place he would end up getting his first job in the real world. From there, Murph has bounced around the sitcom television world working as a Script Coordinator trying to break in as a legitimate writer. After making the nearly viral video “My Sex with J-lo” with a former roommate (Gabriel Sunday), Murph decided it was time to start shooting videos again and created Not A Banana Productions with his buddy Frank Wolff, where he still works. Murph now resides in beautiful Silverlake, CA inside Not A Banana’s official headquarters.
