Biography
Abolitionist. Born Araminta Ross c. 1820 Bucktown, Maryland. Reared in slavery, she married a free black, John Tubman in 1844. He opposed her plans to flee north, so she escaped alone via the Underground Railroad (1849), and over the next decade she led nearly 300 Maryland slaves to safety, including several siblings and her elderly parents. Wait.... that’s Harriet Tubman! Steve is from Michigan and a graduate from Michigan State with a degree in theatre. Therefore, he is not a slave. He fled the north to L.A. in 2001 and has since done numerous theatre, film and sketch productions. He is currently with two improv groups, Complex Comedy and The Omelettes. He is also freeing children from slavery as the program director for Kids on Stage and is soon to be opening his own children's acting school in Manhattan Beach. |
